Ellen M. Beasley, Ph.D., Senior Vice President, Discovery Operations

Dr. Beasley joined Perlegen in July 2007 as Vice President of Projects, and in May 2008 she was promoted to Senior Vice President of Discovery Operations. Prior to joining Perlegen, Dr. Beasley was Senior Director of Therapeutics Alliances, Senior Director of Bioinformatics and Director of Gene Discovery at Celera and project manager at the Stanford Human Genome Center. Dr. Beasley obtained a B.S. from Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut, and a Ph.D. from the University of Chicago prior to completing postdoctoral training at the Biocenter of the University of Basel (Switzerland) and Stanford University. Dr. Beasley has more than 15 years of research experience in both academic and industry settings. She is an inventor on over 180 issued patents and an author on a dozen publications, including publications on the mapping and sequencing of the drosophila and human genomes.
